Oh yeah I agree that would definitely be great. I think Signal's requirements for a currency in their payment section is that it be a fast settlement AND private.
Bitcoin is not fast or private
Monero and zcash are not fast
Lightning is not private
Mobilecoin is fast AND private
Ecash is fast AND private
But since mobilecoin is too unknown and not easily acquired on mainstream exchanges no one uses it.
Ecash can be easily turned into lightning and then into bitcoin. Its the obvious next best option.
