agreed... the right is pathetic pushing this nonsense... unbelievably pathetic and hypocritical... but why did the left think it would be any different?
this is where I have no patience for right-left politics... both sides fail to understand that whatever they do to the other side, during their turn in power, will eventually be used against their side.
imo we would all be better off if we turned our attention to up-down politics, and the fact that we're all being played.

I must live under a rock. Until this month I would have been able to identify neither Charlie Kirk nor Jimmie Kimmel in a lineup.
Big agree that up/down is all that matters
I haven't looked at any of this Kimmel stuff, but my gut says its just an excuse for ABC to stop paying for the show. All late night shows have been losing money for years for the networks. They get perfect cover by blaming Trump for Colbert and "the right" for Kimmel
If the two of them were making money for the network they wouldn't be cancelled.
Just my 2 sats tho
Agreed. This is just tit for tat. And that behavior goes on forever.
the rock named “nostr” for the win on this issue
Your freedom of speech has social consequences.
Losing your job is one. If your private employer doesn't like what you're saying. They can let you go. It's not cancel culture.
You have freedom of speech, freedom to own a gun, etc.
Not freedom to be employed.
It’s not his firing that matters it’s the fcc chairs comments beforehand
Yes:

Can I use your rock?
And the implied carrot/stick to Sinclair and Nexstar mergers/acquisitions etc.

And who put the FCC chair in place?
🧠
Trump obviously
This is a false comparison meant to deflect and deceive.
The right is calling for private employers to fire private individuals based on the objectively abhorrent behavior they chose to display publicly.
The left didn’t do just that in 2020-2022, they supported the government mandating vaccination and for people to be fired for not taking an experimental drug, or for refusing to be bullied into saying men can become women.
The 2 sides are the same in as much as BSV and BTC are the same.
What Pam Bondi said (which has been retracted) was not demanded by the right. We don’t want the government involved in the non violent punishment of these people.
No one is falling for gaslighting or crocodile tears from leftists pretending they give 2 shits about free speech.
The left used state power for censorship a million times more than the right, but it still doesn’t mean I’m in favor of the right doing it.
Practically speaking, no one on the right is calling for this. They have and will continue to oppose it.
State censorship isn’t bad per se. There are many evil things the state ought to censor that help civilize society and make it more virtuous. The problem is the abuse of censorship along capricious party lines, that censors good and allows evil free rein. Right or left, they should censor the evil, false, and ugly to make it easier for the populace to become virtuous and not make it harder than it needs to be by granting indecency a similar footing with decency and treating evil and good, ugly and beautiful as if they were just matters of opinion.
True
The FCC should noy exist.
