Kittens are amazing but it's important to develop good habits early on. If he's playful but scratches aggressively, then he will stay that way as an adult. It may not be a big deal to you but he thinks it's playful and friendly. It's not a fun conversation to have when your friend's kid get scratched or bit by your cat who was just trying to play haha he's super cute though

I used to hate on Autocorrect, but cat paws helping made the bit better as far as I'm concerned.
Scratching posts are great too. Place a bunch of these around your furniture so he doesn't ruin it for you.
