Venerable George of Cernica, guide us to repentance! As a young man, he ignored his parents wishes, joining the army instead of the monastery. After a near-death experience in battle, he changed his ways. Returning home, he sought forgiveness, and became a monk at Căldărușani Monastery. Later, he became abbot of Cernica Monastery, reviving its spiritual life. His strict asceticism and love for prayer attracted many disciples. His teachings emphasized inner peace and the Jesus Prayer. Pray that he intercedes for us, that we may find the path to God through repentance and devotion.
