I would say almost half The music I listen to is instrumental. Here is the opening track from the debut album of a fusion band called Brand X. Phil Collins on drums. The musicianship of everyone is unreal.

This is a simple song yet I find has the same effect roping me in, giving me goosebumps with its bluesy soul and lyric.

Quite solid. She's like an Aussie Alicia Bognanno from the band Bully. Love the Jurrasic Park reference in the outro. Lovely arrangement.

What a sound. Especially the drums sound excellent on this album! 👌 Proof me wrong but I would consider the1970s as peak of studio recordings, it didn't get any better from there. Thanks again for sharing!

Yeah the whole album is great! And Collins' drumming is amazing. Yeah some 60s recordings leave much to be desired from a mixing and quality perspective. I think because stereo literally just came out and different engineers didn't know how to mix with a second speaker 😂. But by the 70s I think they had more or less created the gold standard for the recording and mixing process! The second album by brand X is also pretty good and had the same lineup. After that Genesis got so big Phil Collins left to be their proper front man.
