I think Jiang’s failure on Bitcoin is hubris and ignorance. I’ve watched a bunch of his videos. He’s great on history, but I’d give him an F in economics. He doesn’t know how much he doesn’t know about economics. The backlash by Bitcoiners is because he’s yet another popular person who we’d expect to get it by now. It’s painfully obvious for us, so it’s frustrating when someone is so close, but still doesn’t get it.

Well yeah for us Bitcoiner the sentences - "Where are the servers? I want to know where the Bitcoin databases are, physically?" made us laugh so hard, it was instant meme. Even the host started laughing. And now the joke is just extended : )). And I don't see it in negative way. I have seen the guy before but never watched his content.

Painful to watch

He literally came out of nowhere and was suddenly everywhere. Dude glows. His purpose is to shit on everything western but he can't acknowledge #Bitcoin because central banking is a pillar of communism. They have to control the money. His videos are a demoralization effort. Pushing youth to lose faith in the system. Probably deservedly, but he's not without intention.

I’ve seen that take a lot and I think it’s too trigger happy, indulgent ODD (Hodl), jealousy, American jingoism, and contrarianism, mostly from people who haven’t watched a single lecture and have only seen his worst clips, of which there are many. He doesn’t just shit on everything western, he explains the tradeoffs, not just of western culture, but that of the Chinese, Russians, etc. I’d say he’s actually net favorable on western tradition. Also, just because someone suddenly becomes popular doesn’t necessarily make them an op. He’s been posting videos for years. The algo picked him up because he correctly predicted that the US would attack Iran. Anytime the central banking money system comes up, he outright calls it a Ponzi scam control system. I’m amenable to the hypothesis that he’s an op, but not from people who are ultra confident that he is while having only seen clips.
