People learned to use the mask in crowded public spaces. I used now when I know I have a virus, and others do too (not everybody unfortunately). That was unthinkable before the pandemic. We got better at that aspect at least.

Masks don't do shit and were merely a virtue signal to how compliant you were.
Masks now serve two purposes.
One, they let you know who the extreme liberal zombies are.
Two, masks have been normalized, so you can use them to thwart the facial recognition tyranny.
One thing is for sure. Masks do nothing to stop aerosol viruses, just like jeans don't stop a fart.
