I don’t believe most pharmaceutical research begins “tabula rasa,” with “hey let’s find a remedy for … .” I suspect a known natural, folk wisdom or Indian remedy is identified, synthesized and patented, following with cooked up warnings, hazards and “consult with your physician” before taking the aforementioned remedy.
