What biometric data did they want? Iris scan, fingerprint, etc? We’re probably headed that way in which biometric data is commonly used as a form of identity. I started writing a story about this like 10 years ago set in a futuristic NYC (year 2046 — but obvi technology has become way more accelerated so date needs to be adjusted) in which keys were obsolete and replaced by biometric scans to open apartment doors.
