By declaring this in a special event kind via their profile relay settings, users set preferences on where their events should be sent. This reduces user confusion and fuels decentralization. The simplest take away here is that users no longer need to have a shared common relay between them to communicate. Clients handle all of the heavy lifting for them. This change simplifies both the client experience and relay coordination, aligning with decentralized social networking principles.
