Encrypted messaging only works if it survives failure. That’s the flaw @JeffG points to in even the best centralized tools: one company, one infrastructure, one outage away from silence.
@White Noise uses Nostr and novel cryptography to remove the server as a choke point. If one relay fails, you move on. Secure communication shouldn’t depend on permission or uptime from anyone else.

I think @keychat had a better nostr based solution but @SimpleX remains my best bet overall. But fully agree with centralization making Signal a liability
It's so utterly fragile though.
Feels like 3 or 4 years of hardening is needed.
