Been thinking about taking my 7yo son out of his state school and into a local independent Christian School. Should be having a tour next week.

As a person that experienced both as a child, your involvement and influence is more important than either curriculum, both of which oft miss the mark of true north. The peers they’re placed among are oft a mix of good and bad seeds, of a range equally broad. Your home as a cornerstone is the keel that quietly and below the surface offers corrective guidance. Know that either school can produce a great person with persistent anchorage at home. Controlling their social media and access to other inputs and engagements is even more critical than school choice.
