I agree that it likely is a trap but I don't think they want to be hated. At this point, I'm thinking that the elite are hiding behind jews because they dominate the financial sector. It gives them a good cover and a useful group to control. Remember that the Ashkenazi Jews are not the same as orthodox Jews.
