Using the custom “nostr:” prefix should open your preferred Nostr client to the users profile if I recall correctly.

There’s an old PR out there somewhere @elsat / @jb55 for writing npubs to NFC fyi. Would make conferences a lot easier to hand out badges :-)

Just wanted to say thank you @Ben Weeks ⚡, I used this yesterday at a pleb meet / walk. Worked like a (technology empowered) charm 🙂 Haven't tried the tap to spend (preloaded device) function - I think you mentioned (somewhere) - but it's on my (ever lengthening) todo list.
