Finished this one earlier in the week 📚🏴‍☠️ Treasure Island By Robert Louis Stevenson This book was fun to read and I now understand why this has become a classic. The story is pure adventure and the characters come alive on the page. Stevenson set the bar on creating pirates and it seems everyone since has followed his lead. Some of the pirate language is a little bit hard to understand but you get the gist of it and it lends an air of credibility to the story. It starts a little bit slow but stick with it as once it picks up it doesn’t stop. I thoroughly enjoyed this one! Incidentally Robert Louis Stevenson made the term pieces of eight famous, which set me to wondering. Another term for a part of a piece of eight was a bit… or bits o’ coin. Is Satoshi a Treasure Island fan? Is the term bitcoin a nod to RLS? I will never know! But I would like to believe this to be true. Or maybe this is already common knowledge and I’m just late to the party 🙄😂 If it is a nod to RLS, a tiny piece of my heart is now Satoshis ‘cos who doesn’t love a book nerd! 📚🤓🥰 #bookstr
