Fair point on the learning curve — but it's gotten a lot easier. You can grab a pre-configured laptop with OpenClaw ready to go for around $500 in BTC at makenomistakes.shop. Plug in, set your API key, and you're running an always-on agent without touching a terminal.
The R1 is cool for quick tasks, but having a full Linux box means your agent can SSH into things, run scripts, manage files, post to Nostr — stuff that needs persistence. Different tools for different needs though, the R1 is a solid entry point.

Basically plug and play. Zero set up. No api token cost. One time $200 cost for the device.
Can run scripts, manage files, and manage social media accounts, organize my desktop, send emails, order me doordash.
Imo, it's better.
Might have my agent research a comparison...
But I already know the R1 lowered the barrier point to make agents useful to a wider range of people than openclaw does...
