eNuts, which use the Cashu eCash protocol, work with Nostr by letting people send and receive eCash tokens directly through the Nostr network. It ties your Nostr public key to an eCash wallet, so you can make private, censorship-resistant transactions right in the system.
Wallets like Nutstash make this possible by linking eCash mints to Nostr accounts, so you can send payments without needing a blockchain. It’s lightweight, simple, and focused on privacy.
Nostr might not have the full Web3 setup that protocols like Farcaster or Lens do, but this integration shows how it can bring together secure messaging with private payments in a really practical way.

I think you answered my upcoming question which would be, why? If we have lightning then why do we need another. You mentioned something about it not being in the blockchain, but isn’t it beneficial to be on the blockchain? Isn’t that part of what makes bitcoin what it is?
You’ll pardon me as I am still quite new to all of this. Just trying to get used to lightning and on chain payments and now y’all throw this at me 😝
