Cratering the economy, AI can do that. But when you kill rats, you need a 100% kill rate or the bastards will come back, more resistant than before. This is also true of humans, the fur-less bipedal mutant tool-using cousins of the rats. Our species (or its successors) gonna be here until the sun explodes. Rats have a good chance, too.
