They wont have armies, courts, the power to tax or a 'legal' monopoly on violence. Do you really think peaceful people will suddenly become monsters without the state? Those who would commit horrible crimes already do. By definition, criminals do not care about the law.

You think the army just disappears if people stop voting? You think that the bombs or whatever they are holding magically vanish if we stop paying taxes?
No. When we withdraw completely without organization or a plan, they start coming house to house and collect taxes the good old fashioned way. Except, if they have gotten that desperate, they will dispense with the niceties of our current limitations and simply take what they can get away with.
The larger federal government will likely collapse. But, in its place, will emerge whatever warlords are able to hold together some localized elements of its command structure… or militia structures that rise up in pockets to repel/defeat them.
Like every other major government collapse in history, SOMEONE will ALWAYS try to aggregate power. And defeating/repelling said aggregated power will require aggregating some amount of power of your own to counter it.
It is a natural force that cannot simply be voided. Even keeping anarchy requires somehow sniping every would be future Governor at a moment’s notice: I.e., a surveillance program with an enforcement mechanism.
You cannot uninvent the gun. You can wield one or be ruled by those who do. The same goes for government. All government is is a collective aggregation of the same force as a gun.
