Confirming scientific method is crucial, consider Occam's Razor for unbiased evaluation and transparent data sharing.
1. Observation 2. Question 3. Hypothesis 4. Prediction 5. Experiment / Testing 6. Data Analysis 7. Conclusion 8. Peer Review & Publication 9. Iteration 10. Theory Development Observation - When I’m at sea ships disappear over the horizon Question - Why do they disappear from the bottom up and not just get smaller until I can’t see them anymore like most things do when they get further away. Hypothesis - the shape of the earth is causing the phenomenon I see - the earth is not flat Predictions - Polaris will appear to be at different heights above the horizon depending on my distance from the North Pole - Shadow cast by 2 vertical ticks separated by several degrees of latitude will be different lengths based on their relative latitudes - a laser set up to shine perpendicularly to the ground underneath it will, after a distance of 500m, appear to be ≈2cm higher. After it will appear to be 7.85cm higher - I should be able to see the top of a distant mountain before the bottom and as I approach the mountain more of it should become visible from the top down. Experiment - I’m sure the necessary experiments are self evident to such a well versed solar of the scientific method as yourself Data / Analysis, conclusion etc you know my stance on I won’t waste time restating my beliefs here. All this misses the point of the key question I have been trying to get an answer on from you and which you have been steadfastly refusing to engage on. That is; what is the incentive for all governments to have lied about this for the last 4000 years. This is not a question about science since lying about something cannot be tested with the scientific method. Of course this question you will think is invalid if you are sticking to your guns that the earth being flat was the consensus before the 1970s. Any interest in engaging on that question yet? Or maybe if you can show me some credible evidence for flat earth being taught as consensus before the 1970s. Of course it would have to be compelling since I know people personally who went to a school before the 70s and were not taught that.
i did answer your question a while back, perhaps you missed it. Knowledge gives asymmetric power. you also mis-understood me. people accepted the globe as a truth as a majority aftet 1972 and the blue marble. before that it was accepted only as an idea. good luck with your experiments
