seriously though of course I do, as a developer I can write code sure. But what you miss when you view things as 'what an individual developer can do' is what the world's software developers, working together can do. Could I write a C Compiler? Sure. Would anyone use it? probably not. And it would be mostly a waste of my time *to* write a C compiler when there's more important problems to solve, since the GNU project has already done that. There are problems that no individual developer can solve -- it requires developers across the world to really address properly.
It's *solidarity with the rest of the free software movement* that allows us to engage in division of labour and solve more and more complex problems.
