Well, there is some truth (very) deeply hidden - but as usual, not the point he’s making.
As overwhelming majority of men know, there comes the point in life when man realises that he cannot have everything and he has to actually choose his future life. For most men, this point comes surprisingly early in adulthood, because of societal pressure. Men are forced to choose between the career and leisure life, because this directly impact their future prospects. And we are rewarded for that - the earlier we choose, the bigger the reward is (usually).
Women, on the other hand, are constantly told that they can have everything. That they can study, travel, FA without the FO, have a career, start a family and while they can do it at any point in life, the later they choose, the better for them. But that is - of course - nonsense.
Men, who are choosing careers, are looking for wives without careers. That is not a product of oppressive patriarchy, but the result of natural choice. Those who are not putting their careers first are choosing to abstain from the provider role - and woman must step forward then to pick up the role herself, at least partly, so they look for women capable of that.
I would say that it is usually best to strive for a balance, but in this case, balance is probably what got us here. I think that women need to re-learn that they have to choose as well and stick to that choice. Accept that it’s not possible to have everything. And no matter what that choice will be, men are hungry for women who know and accepted their role in life, whatever that is.
When I was younger, I thought that the ideal woman is the one that is a bit of everything - the one who wants to have a farm, but travels a lot, the one who wants a big family, but is also well-read. To my surprise I realised that these women actually exist - and they are boring as hell.
So - men and women alike - be comfortable in your lives. Make and accept your choices. Life is too short to try to have it all. You will probably have another chance.
