I have been thinking about these types of large oversized chopping boards lately. I have 4 smaller ones that get used, sometimes all at once depending on what is being prepped. One big one would be nice. Any thoughts? #asknostr #foodstr #chefstr

My entire counter is chopping block. I'm not sure how people operate without a counter that's not a cutting board. π
Personally I think 14"x21" is the sweet spot for big boards. This one is too big to wash in a normal sink without making a mess of things. Unless you're doing brisket or other big foods I'm not a fan of the jumbo boards.
I feel like this is how I want to use the space. I just need to think through the cleaning process.
Personally I rarely use our large one, it doesn't fit in the sink good and I can hardly lift it for putting food into a pot or skillet... My wife grabs that big one about every time. I grab the medium one most often.
Itβs the cleaning process that I am a little bit hung up on. I have 4 chopping boards, 3 of which are the perfect size in relation to the sink and the drying rack to make cleaning a breeze, especially in between different types of prep during the same session. From time to time I could really do with a bigger one though π§
Yes, weight would be an issue. Thinking about the ones I use now, I am often lifting/holding one handed.
I use our big board when making bread cuz our countertops are granite. the wood material makes it easier for kneading and shaping.
Iβve got three chopping boards, but the medium one is the one I reach for mostβitβs just easier to clean, dry, and put away. The over size one only comes out for serving pizza, cheese boards, slicing bread(sometimes), or when Iβm making dough.
Thanks for the input. π

I have a 21.5β x 29β but I do a huge amount of work on it.
