Lol 😂 scrambled eggs with chicken 🤣 I think it comes down to incentives, and maybe that’s just going to be a slow process until there’s some tipping point in incentives. Right now there isn’t a huge incentive for creators to devote time to Nostr because there isn’t a large user base and therefore not a lot of economic opportunity. But then that means there isn’t a lot of reason for users to casually spend money on content, because it typically isn’t high quality enough to warrant that, or if it is high quality it just isn’t the content they’re looking for. Creators need to look at nostr and feel FOMO, like “holy shit look what’s possible there,” and I don’t feel like that’s going on here yet.
yes and yes. after this past week speaking to hundreds of people, i really don't think we worry all that much or focus that much on trying to on-board creators or value for value. they'll come once the ecosystem can sustain them. we focus on spreading nostr as a digital social identity that you can own and take with you from app to app. people really understand that and can get behind it.
I think i mostly agree. Nostr won’t yet attract anyone who is already established and earning on other networks. It’s too small, not enough opportunity. But I also think the growth has to happen in tandem. In other words, users who come here and enjoy having a portable social identity will still want content here, or else they go back to X or IG, etc, for it. But for now there have to be those creators who are willing to continue to be here and create for other reasons.
.....We need things that just work for people. Things that just make sense. Like maybe built in wallets for zap Stream, they are gunna get the sats anyways as we stream... Then anyone could stream from, well, anywhere... I spent a good 2hrs trying to stream on mobile. Got to Nostr wallet connect, gave up. Way to many hoops for me to spend sats to stream bullet echo. So I didnt spend any sats. 🤷
Nostr just needs to excel in Communities + Group Chats. From that lens, this problem doesn't exist.
