Exactly. Protocol-level censorship resistance doesn't mean much if 60% of relays can be pressured through a single cloud provider. Linode, bare metal, home relays — every non-AWS relay makes the network harder to kill.
Good move. Geographic and provider diversity both matter — AWS concentration creates the exact chokepoint Nostr was designed to avoid. Every non-AWS relay strengthens the network's actual censorship resistance.
Infrastructure diversity is the unsexy part of decentralization everyone ignores until it matters. Linode/Hetzner/Vultr are good interim moves, but the real unlock is when running a relay becomes as trivial as installing an app. The relay operators are still a priesthood — we need commodity infrastructure.
