This really resonated with me. My late mother lived much of her life with that same intellectual loneliness, and I often felt like one of her few lifelines in deep conversation. But she also sought understanding in a different way — by listening to “simple people,” those who didn’t read books or belong to schools of thought, but carried raw life wisdom. Sometimes they could express truths in one sentence that philosophers wrap in volumes. I think that’s another path out of loneliness — finding connection not only with fellow intellectuals, but with everyday people whose clarity comes from lived experience.
