The reasoning is he was a CEO of a publicly traded company. He had a fiduciary responsibility to the shareholders to make sure his fiat federal reserve notes didn't melt away to inflation. If he thinks ossification is the way to continue to deliver shareholder value he is going to promote that...because he has to. I'm not defending that, I'm just stating a fact.
