Sure, I just wonder if the obsession with block lists is so widespread that you may feel like it is as quiet as nostr in practice? Maybe it's not that widespread, it's just very vocalised by a few. No idea
I don't think it matters, I can still find a minority of people on there who aren't obsessed with censorship, and that's probably still more people than are on nostr

For ease of normie use. Nostr doesn't GAF about data integrity. Nice for tinkering, but a real pain for users.
Fortunately, normie ease of use is not the problem Nostr is trying to solve. That comes later. Makes sense normie ease of use is the problem bluesky is focusing on, illustrated by their overwhelming centralization. One is novel, the other is a waste of time.
Society isn't being threatened by bad social media UX.
