There we agree, but i think if 110 signaling on nodes was more unanimous >>50% (or even just close to that) then miners would fear nodes/users not validating and then feel pressure. We never saw that because signaling at a node level was tiny and so there was no pressure on miners. If they tried to do something proactively users didn’t like I think we would win like in the block size war - the difference here was that miners AND most users preferred the status quo to the proposed alternative, so I don’t think it’s fair to say things like the project is doomed, nodes have no power, etc since most nodes likely prefer a non BIP-110 outcome
