And money-in-social is very much how people feel about X these days (Twitter never did this - sponsored posts, paid badges etc.) Leaving it in the settings as an optional is a much nicer way to allow the user to enable and engage with it rather than instantly putting their minds to this. We see the same with musicians. Talk to them ask day about owning their own music and decentralization and they are all ears. The moment you say bitcoin most are done listening. Logic isn't part of the equation.
