I can't speak to making the choice as a musician, depends on how much time/money you have and how much you want to do the tech stuff. I would think it would be easier to tackle as a band with more people in it and maybe someone in the band has tech skills... vs if you're a solo artist or a duo and maybe no one can handle *one more thing* on top of the rest of the work you need to do. Some on here will tell you there's only 1 way to do things. I believe in choice...
