What is the difference between connecting my own miner, and then buying hashrate? I’ve never bought hashrate before!!

You can do both 😉 many of our Rigly'ers do just that to bump up the hashrate. If you solo mine, you can BYOM (bring your own miner). Buying hashrate makes it so anyone can join the party to try and mine a block—without equipment. The more of us there are buying hashrate, the more likely we are to "steal" a block from the big mining monopolies. Bringing in solo miners helps us like a rising tide to lift all boats in our pool. The goal is to amass as much hashrate as we can. We'll crank up the hashrate on Saturday from noon-2:00 ET and give it a shot to find a block!

Gotcha! So even if I have my miner connected, I can still buy hashrate?
