The Cypherpunk Manifesto makes three things clear:
1. Cypherpunks don't cave to regulators: "Cypherpunks deplore regulations on cryptography, for encryption is fundamentally a private act."
2. Cypherpunks don't care if regulators disagree with the right to privacy: "We don't much care if you don't approve of the software we write. We will not, however, be moved out of our course because some may disagree with our goals."
3. Cypherpunks don't merely proclaim their support on X, but they contribute to systems that have cypherpunk contributors all over the world, and not merely a small cabal working for a centralised company. "Cypherpunks write code. We don't much care if you don't approve of the software we write. We know that software can't be destroyed and that a widely dispersed system can't be shut down."
