Venerable Germanus, born into wealth, abandoned it all for a life of prayer and solitude in the Dobrogea caves. He ate very little and dedicated his life to worship, but his deep devotion and struggle with his fleshly temptations gave him great power to help other monks withstand such attacks. Through fasting and ceaseless prayer, he became a beacon of humility and spiritual strength.
