β‘οΈπ―π΅πΆ ALERT - Japan is set to record a record low of 670,000 births in 2025, a figure that is much worse and lower than even the most pessimistic forecasts. This is the lowest level since at least 1899.
This follows another record low in 2024, when Japan saw only about 686,000 births, already the lowest in history, while deaths far outnumbered births, contributing to ongoing population decline.
