The way I understand it is Bitcoin gives you control of your money without a middleman. Digital ID built on Bitcoin gives you control of your id cradentials without a middleman. I just heard about it yesterday, so I want to learn more. There is (was?) something called ION Identity Overlay Network that was supposed to be a layer 2 on Bitcoin for this purpose.
