Maybe the fallout is severely overstated or to say it in other words, the fallout is extremely hard the first several weeks but then it drops intensity fast. I have confirmed with military members/ scientists; nukes are very real and can wipe out cities in a blink of an eye Anyways already several small tactical nukes have been used by the US and Iran in this war.
