From a Nostr user self custody lightning as an L2 is a mess, always has been. The vast vast vast majority will use custodial lightning, until something changes or a new L2 pops up. #Cashu is a useful risk, the ux is slick and the tradeoffs argument is irrelevant because hardly anyone will be running a lightning node because balancing channels, routing liquidity is a massive pita.
