I’ve spent my morning reviewing Islamic marriage contract templates on the internet. As a technical writer with some understanding of contract and family law, my brain can’t help but reword some of these clauses so they are explicitly clear in intention, definition, and statement.  I’m sure those changes will be fine once I cross that bridge, as they don’t change the underlying “interpretation” but only clarify it by specifically stating it. In contractual law in the United States, contracts must not be vague. I know that when you’re looking through legal documents, there are a lot of vague or confusing-like statements still contained in them.  There’s a huge gap between what the law states and what is actually passed onto parties or judges in a case.  I hope my future husband finds my documentation skills valuable.
