There's a lot of scammers but GoFundMe is safe, they give you back your money if they find out it's a scammer. Guy on the other hand is not some desperate person who needs donations, he is a rich American kid who gets paid to make videos "spreading awareness" then just begs everyone to pay off his collage debt and pay his rent etc.
