Currently running only a single #GrapheneOS mobile device (Pixelnd a single netbook (System76 Lemur Pro w/ Secureblue).
There is a good chance I retire the netbook completely by 2030, since I'm no longer writing code and, more importantly, because the mobile ecosystem has surpassed desktop so completely that the desktop app ecosystem will never catch up or be properly supported.
I think a Motorola folder running #GrapheneOS and then a Lapdock for tasks that require more productivity, potentially a standing desk with a hub and a large monitor and mechanical keyboard + cam/mic as well.
One device. That's all that the average individual really needs. And perhaps a home server next to their router/satellite setup.

grapheneos is the move but the home server isnt optional. need cln to verify. phoenix for daily use, coldcard for the rest. desktop is just extra attack surface anyway.
Similar.
The overhead of maintaining an entirely different OS, even a completely different paradigm (desktop vs mobile)... It's very expensive.
I like computers, but right now I want to devote myself more to IRL quests and responsibilities.
I like the idea of getting a full screen and using the keyboard I love when I have some deeper work to do.
Every time I use my desktop machine I have a ton of work to do upgrading it, and re-learning it's specifics. That's fine because I like the hobby, but I also don't have much of a choice right now.
I'd like to just maintain and even care about a single device. I would be so much lighter as a person.
Not to mention mobile performance is very good. The average and even some power users depending on your work flow could easily do a single device and dock to monitor / keyboard for email, writing, slop consumption, and web browsing.
Start 9
Still need a PC running Linux
Keep posting updates, this is a cool experiment
I'll keep a laptop just in case I want to do some engineering, but my goal is to move 99% of usecases to this mobile flex setup.
a lot of my typing that I would have done I can use some of the local voice transcription model on mobile. A lot of what I do is just talking to my phone now and having my keyboard (FUTO) essentially convert live. It's gotten very good.
Wouldnt it be fun if they made a grapheneos for that daylight computer?
That daylight computer is going to be replaced at some point with laphub with the appropriate healthy features.
I cant find any info on that
