You send sats to someone else other than the author of the post. You can configure who that is.
But those sats will get registered as that particular note's downzap and will show in the tally.
Think of this as downvoting with hard-earned sats (much like zapping but the opposite)

Hey Vivek. You probably realized this already, but if not, at the current time I can upvote as much as I want. I just set the upvote to this as 20 (should be 3 if I only did once)
Hey Ike.. nostr doesn't restrict number of reactions one can do on a note. So even if zapddit blocked repeat upvotes, people could anyway use some other client to react as many times as they want.
So I didn't mind blocking it
Thanks for the info. nostr can hopefully add something to help in the future, like a nip for votes specifically
