Is the end/purpose of the transaction to communicate value? If yes, then monetary. if the communication of value is only a pretense to something else, then it’s not monetary. I personally think fee’s ultimately “filter” out all non monetary uses, so i don’t get worked up about the issue. but it’s insulting to your own rationality to pretend as if it’s impossible to differentiate monetary and non monetary uses. I respect you, and want to warn everyone we really do not want to go down that relativistic path. logically it doesnt just cut off the branch we are sitting on, that cuts down the entire tree.
