the inside-job thesis is a fun one. NRL or NSA or some other alphabet agency... at a conference, I once met a guy who's been in bitcoin for 10+ years, you'd probably recognize his name. he told me that he was introduced to BTC through a super-super-wealthy connection that wanted to promote bitcoin, but needed a pleb to be the public face of that effort. it seems that the world's side-loading bitcoin into the finance system, as a replacement for USD and all other fiat bucks.
