@preston would love to hear your thoughts on a developing theory of mine. The AI funding and backstop news the last couple weeks has me spooked. I see parallels to the space race with USSR. If the space race cost did start the fall of USSR I can easily see America repeating the same thing with the trillions in backstop AI and nation security is calling for. All the while China sits there with plenty of power and says the cost of AI with drop and efficiency will keep improving so that the trillions the USA burns is unnecessary and fuels the demise of USA imperialism
