Also, what about cashu options like @Minibits? They're not self-custodial, but there's pretty good privacy guarantees for small amounts, and you can sweeping to self-custody once your balance gets to a certain level

Going through the docs it seems the best self-hosted option is to deploy on a VPS with a public IP address readily available:
The other option is using an instance of LNbits with the upcoming NWCprovider extension:
Soon to be in a new LNbits release:
There can also use phoenixd and Blink @Blink Wallet as well as the funding source.
