Great! Micah before you go to the woods with it could I please ask you do a little micro test and let me know that it works at all 😅 I have one user where the resolution change has made things worse, not better. Interested in your feedback!
Sweet. Ok. I'll A/B est it at home tonight going between a solid wifi connection and then with my cell signal. I wish I could watch the stream after I've done it. I never get to see the stuttering people experience, so I depend on having an audience to tell me what's going on... 🤷‍♂️
Well if you want to you can! ZS has different modes. We default to basic which is free and has no recording, but if you set the mode to best which is 5 sats/min then you get a recording which you can replay from your profile page. When the stream confirmation modal comes up at the bottom and you see the panel that says ZS, press it, and you get to the settings screen. Set it to best, and then save.
It didnt work bro. The stream freezes immediately/never starts. To be specific, when I attempt to 'go live' the image freezes on the screen (android) and the stream never starts... trying to press the button again results in a crash. I tried on both best and basic quality from home wifi. I went live directly from zap.stream without issue and tried @Shosho – Live Stream on Nostr again and had the same issue.
Ah! That's what the other user reported as well. It seems like it's related to my reducing the resolution in order to save bandwidth, some Android handsets just don't like it. So you're in the position that the other user was also in which is that 0.5.1 works if you've got a good enough internet connection, and 0.6.3 doesn't work at all. Thanks for all this testing! Great work on the drums!
So... I was thinking about it. Before the update, the stream worked (on ShoSho) it was just stuttering a bunch... The thing is, that may not have been Shosho's fault. After going live directly from ZS, I noticed the same stuttering (even with a great wifi connection) if I streamed in basic quality.... the stuttering disappeared with higher quality settings, both better and best. I never tried using better or best quality with ShoSho. I wonder if the app was fine beforehand, and the stuttering wasn't due to shosho at all, but instead due to the ZS quality.
