Yeah I get that. I have a high follower count but fairly low engagement on posts. It might be the nature of my posts as well as *when* I post. I would say following certain high volume hash tags is helpful. I haven't explored communities but certain clients have those too. You could try other clients to see if that helps. I use one as my daily driver but do poke around other ones sometimes. You may also want to experiment with other relays.
