Yea he did...in 1979 he created a proprietary system at Rutgers University dubbed 'email' with the same inbox/outbox, Cc & BCc, memo, and drafts thaf we see in normal email UI today before the word "email" was first used comercially So its technically a semantics argument on whether or not he invented email.
