I want to learn #sewing as a hobby. I think it would be a good hobby, because it’s creative and not related to technology, except for designing and pattern drafting. For that, I use an application called CLO3D.
Right now, I’m looking into which sewing machines I would need. I’ve sold so many machines through my little business which has allowed me to try a lot of different brands. I’ve come to like a brand called Jack. Very similar to Juki (which is the industry-standard), but much cheaper and feels more modern in terms of features and the way their machines are engineered.
The problem is, there are so many different garments I’d like to sew from sweatshirts, denim jackets and jeans, to outerwear jackets and pants. This would require different machines since the fabric used for sweatshirts is much lighter than 16oz denim for a denim jacket.
I’ve started my sewing machine #business again. It’s a side hustle where I’m selling industrial sewing machines.
Took a break from it because it was clear I had sold machines to so many people that there just weren’t any customers left.
But last week, I started the business again. I ordered one machine to begin with (just to see if there was any interest) and sold it immediately after receiving it. Then I ordered two more machines, which I should receive on Thursday. Will be interesting to see how fast they get sold.
It’s a nice way to bring in some extra income while I’m studying. Also, it’s a lot of fun!
